Tennessee Safety is a training organization passionate about helping law-abiding individuals to be safe in the use of firearms and less lethal means to defend themselves and others.
TN Safety also educates, equips and qualifies instructors, law enforcement, and other specialized fields in lethal and less lethal protection.

Leroy Farris, Owner and Chief Instructor
INSTRUCTING FIREARM & SAFETY COURSES FOR OVER 25 YEARS.
Leroy Farris experience spans law enforcement agencies, military, firearms associations and security instruction. His passion is training and most recently served as a guest instructor with the FBI Police Firearms Instructors. He has also presented at Annual Training Conventions with the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearm Instructors Association (IALEFI).
Leroy is a graduate of numerous civilian, military, and law enforcement firearms training schools, including the FBI Firearms Instructor School, the NRA Law Enforcement Instructor Development School, and several courses at the Yavapai Firearms Academy. He is also certified by the National Tactical Officers Association to instruct Patrol Response to Active Shooter.
He is a Tennessee State Certified Handgun Instructor and a NRA Certified Instructor and Training Counselor in the disciplines of Advanced Pistol, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, Personal Protection In and Outside the home, and the NRA’s Refuse to Be A Victim program.
He is a registered trainer with the Department of Commerce and Insurance, Private Protective Services, certified to teach Armed / Unarmed Security, Baton and Subject Control Spray in the State of Tennessee.
He is also a FBI, POST and NRA Certified Law Enforcement Instructor in Handgun, Shotgun and Patrol Rifle. In addition, he is a NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer, a Certified OC (Pepper) Spray Instructor, Certified Expandable Baton Instructor, a M-16/AR15 Certified Armorer, a Glock Certified Armorer, Smith and Wesson M&P Armorer, Colt and Springfield 1911, Sig P320&P229 Armorer, Kriss Vector Armorer, Ruger AR556, and Smith and Wesson J-frame revolver armorer.
He served as a formal military instructor and possesses years of experience teaching firearm instructor courses to civilian and law enforcement instructors. He has served as a background investigator and trainer for a municipal police agency. He is an active member of the International Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association, International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, former vice president of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association and a member of the National Tactical Officers Association.
