AI Dominates LinkedIn: Study Reveals Over Half of Long Posts Are Machine-Generated

According to a recent study by AI detection company Originality AI, which examined nearly 9,000 public LinkedIn posts between 2018 and 2024, approximately 54% of posts containing more than 100 words were created using AI writing tools. The analysis shows a dramatic 189% surge in AI-generated content following ChatGPT's release in early 2023.

LinkedIn has embraced this technological shift, offering Premium subscribers access to built-in AI writing tools for posts, profiles, and messages. While the platform doesn't track AI usage statistics, it maintains systems to detect low-quality and duplicate content.

The rise of AI writing on LinkedIn has spawned a growing industry of specialized tools and services aimed at helping users boost their professional presence. Content creators and professionals are increasingly turning to AI platforms like Claude and ChatGPT to draft posts, with many citing time savings as a key benefit.

Non-native English speakers have found particular value in AI writing assistance, using it to polish grammar and improve language fluency in their professional communications.
