The Cleveland Municipal Court, including the Housing Court division, has temporarily suspended operations following a cyber incident that occurred Sunday evening. The court's internal systems and website are currently offline as officials investigate the situation.
Deputy Court Administrator Mike Negray announced that all affected systems were shut down as a precautionary measure while the court works to restore services securely. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
"We take cyber threats extremely seriously and are working expeditiously to rectify the situation as soon as possible," Negray stated. The systems will stay offline until officials gain better clarity about the incident's nature and scope.
The court closure, effective February 24, impacts all regular operations and public access. Only essential staff members are required to report to work during this period. Normal business hours are suspended until further notice.
Members of the public should expect service disruptions as the court focuses on securing its digital infrastructure and safely restoring operations. Officials have not provided an estimated timeline for when systems and services will resume.
The incident affects both the main Municipal Court operations and the Cleveland Housing Court, which handles residential property matters and landlord-tenant cases.
Court administrators are actively working with technical teams to investigate the incident and implement necessary security measures before bringing systems back online.
