British telematics provider Microlise has acknowledged falling victim to a cyber attack, following claims by a ransomware group about compromising the company's systems.
Microlise, which supplies fleet management and telematics solutions to major transportation companies, confirmed on Monday that unauthorized actors had gained access to some of its data. The company detected suspicious activity on its network last week and immediately launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts.
"We are working diligently with external forensic specialists to understand the full scope and impact of this incident," said Microlise CEO Nadeem Raza in a statement. "Our priority remains protecting our customers' information and maintaining the security of our systems."
A ransomware group known as BlackCat has claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they extracted sensitive corporate data. The group threatened to publish the stolen information if their demands are not met.
While specific details about the compromised data remain unclear, Microlise serves numerous high-profile logistics companies across Europe, managing vehicle tracking and transportation operations.
